FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Local Company Acts on Crib Recall
Jersey Shore, NJ
Over the past five years the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled over 9 million cribs due to strangulation, entrapment issues or injuries. On June 24th another very large crib recall of over 2.2 million cribs was announced. There have been reports of 27 babies using drop rail cribs that have become entrapped and even suffocate, prompting this massive recall. These cribs were manufactured by seven different companies.
A local baby equipment rental business, Coastal Baby Rentals, has recently replaced all of their drop-rail cribs in anticipation of this recall. Stephanie Frith, owner of Coastal Baby Rentals, says "The drop-rail cribs I used in my rental business have not had a recall on them specifically, but with all the new information being released on the dangers of drop-rail cribs I wanted to ensure my customers and their families were using only the latest, safest equipment on the market today." Coastal Baby Rentals checks recall lists daily to keep ahead of any safety recalls on their baby equipment. Frith suggest that if you are currently using a drop-rail crib that is listed in this most recent recall, STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY until you have contacted the manufacture. Also, even if your make and model is not yet listed, you may want to consider replacing it regardless.
Frith is offering people who have drop-rail cribs a special on long-term rentals of her new fixed rail cribs, until they can replace what they have. OPERATION WISHING BABY WELL WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
The Yoga & U Foundation and Coastal Baby Rentals are thrilled to announce we doubled the goal for our first-ever Baby Gear Drive. In just six weeks, we collected more than 500 baby essentials – double our goal of 250 – thanks to the incredible generosity of families in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
The Yoga & U Foundation, based in Point Pleasant Beach, is a grassroots non-profit focused entirely on local families in need. Yoga & U runs an “Operation Wishing Baby Well” program, which provides quality-of-life essentials for our littlest neighbors.
When Coastal Baby Rentals of Brielle decided to launch its community service in 2009, the company was an ideal fit for the Yoga & U Foundation. The partnership, on behalf of underprivileged families in our community, has been successful due to overwhelming public support.
We’re incredibly grateful to Eileen McCabe of the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, Frank DaSilva of Point Sun Factory (Point Pleasant), and Traci Cantin and Lauren Gorski of the Growing Tree Children’s Academy in Manasquan for providing drop-off locations for hundreds of items! Thank you for your unwavering enthusiasm.
We thank the Brielle Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to have our Baby Gear Drive culminate with prizes, from local merchants, at Brielle Day. Heather Keefe of Keefe Communications LLC (Point Pleasant) promoted our efforts to the local media, and we truly thank the Coast Star and Ocean Star for covering our story.
Frankly, in light of the horrible economy, we knew we were taking a chance in launching our Baby Gear Drive now. But we also recognized the enormous needs within our local community.
For example, Ocean County’s unemployment rate of 9.4 percent is its highest in decades. In both Monmouth and Ocean Counties, thousands of residents have exhausted their unemployment benefits. As a result, there have been significant increases in the number of families applying for food stamps and other social services.
Yes, that means hundreds of families with small children are struggling financially, but also it means our potential donors are faced with tough times. Overwhelmingly, local families searched through their attics, basements, and closets and found baby items in great condition that needed a new home.
Thank you to every donor for taking the time to support our Baby Product Drive. All the cribs, pack-and-plays, high chairs, strollers, clothing, and toys that you contributed are being put to great use. EVERY donation remains in our community, as the Yoga & U Foundation distributes the items to local organizations such as Ocean Health Initiatives.
Once again, thank you to all our friends and neighbors who are “creating the change” within our shared community.
With gratitude,
Alison Ingenito, founder of the Yoga & U Foundation, Point Pleasant Beach

COASTAL BABY RENTALS AND THE YOGA & U FOUNDATION LAUNCH A BABY GEAR DRIVE FOR LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED
Two organizations have come together to help collect new and used items, for babies and toddlers, to benefit the Yoga & U Foundation’s Operation Wishing Baby Well program.
Coastal Baby Rentals and the Yoga & U Foundation, both focused on families in the Monmouth/Ocean County area, are working together to expand the Yoga & U Foundation’s Operation Wishing Baby Well program. They are hosting a Baby Gear Drive through September 11, collecting new and used essentials for underprivileged families in the local community.
Coastal Baby Rentals, owned by Brielle resident Stephanie Frith, provides families with access to premium baby and toddler products while they’re visiting the Jersey Shore. “I was thrilled to learn of the Yoga & U Foundation,” Frith explains, “because it’s a local non-profit that enables me to help families in my community. Operation Wishing Baby Well is a perfect fit for Coastal Baby Rentals."I’ve always wanted to be a resource for families,” Frith continues. “After I had my daughter, I realized how difficult it can be to travel with young children. I’m proud to have founded a company that improves the quality of life for young families, but I also want to reach out to families with fewer resources. Together with the Yoga & U Foundation, I’m in a position to help.
”The non-profit Yoga & U Foundation, founded in 2006 by Point Pleasant resident Alison Ingenito, empowers people of all abilities, incomes, and interests to become involved with “creating the change” in their own communities. The Yoga & U Foundation encourages people to look around their homes, identify excesses, and consider how they could be put to good use. In this case, Ingenito explains, the excesses are baby and toddler products.“Coastal Baby Rentals and the Yoga & U Foundation connect people who have baby items they no longer need with families who can’t afford them,” Ingenito states. “The Yoga & U Foundation collects quality-of-life items for underprivileged families in Ocean County. Our Operation Wishing Baby Well program is desperate for items because middle-class families are increasingly slipping through the cracks. They can’t afford their mortgage payments or medical bills, much less find the money for a car seat or high chair. But many of us are in the position to peek into our attics and basements and uncover some ‘VIP’ items!”
Donations, which are tax-deductible, can be brought to the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce office (2810 Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant) through September 11. For every item donated, individuals will receive a voucher for five raffle tickets, for a chance to win a local merchant gifts, donated by Coastal Baby Rentals. The raffle will be held on Brielle Day (September 12) at the Brielle Chamber of Commerce booth.
